Otaro Maijo

🇯🇵Japan

Otaro Maijo is a Japanese experimental novelist whose work pushes at the outermost limits of what fiction can be — formally explosive, culturally referential, and often deliberately overwhelming in its density and ambition. He won the Mishima Prize at twenty-five and his subsequent career has been a sustained provocation to conventional narrative expectations. His novel Deny and his other works have a devoted cult following among readers who prefer their literature to make demands.
